Ryan & Caitlin | Bethlehem Engagement
I met up with Ryan and Caitlin on Saturday morning in historic downtown Bethlehem for their engagement photos. With just two months (to the date!) to go before their wedding, it was fun catching up with these two and hearing about wedding plans, and meeting their pup, Charlie!
When we first started planning Caitlin and Ryan’s engagement photos, we casually threw out the idea of a sunrise session. I was so excited when they went for it and we scheduled their session for late July. I got up at 3:30am to get ready to meet them in Bethlehem, and the entire drive up to Lehigh it drizzled on and off. I was literally praying that the rain would clear and give us some good weather for photos. We got lucky, because just as Ryan and Caitlin pulled up to the Historic Hotel Bethlehem, the rain stopped and the sun started to peak out over the horizon!
I asked Caitlin to tell us a little bit more of their love story, so here it is in her own words:
We met while we were both working for the Trenton Thunder baseball team in NJ. We somehow managed to keep it quiet from almost all the management and most of our co-workers for close to a year! Our first date was to the beach in Pt. Pleasant, NJ. Unfortunately, we got to spend about a half hour on the beach that day before a storm rolled though, but we made the best of it spent time at the bar and on the boardwalk. Since that day almost 5 years ago, we’ve been inseparable.
These two got engaged on Christmas Eve of last year on the Appalachian trail in Germansville, PA.
We went for a hike to take advantage of the beautiful weather. We brought our little dog Charlie along for the hike. When we got to the top, we started taking pictures of the beautiful view. I suggested we hike back down because it started to look like rain. As we turned to head back down, Ryan got down on one knee (between two boulders) and proposed. I cried my eyes out and said yes before he finished asking.

Well I think it’s safe to say it was worth it getting up so early! Beautiful photos! I adore her ring!!
