I first met CJ and Allison in the midst of a freak April snowstorm just two weeks after they got engaged. Our meeting was probably one of the most unconventional I’ve had as a wedding photographer – we met at a Starbucks inside a Target (the marriage of those two brands is basically a dream come true, by the way….I can sip my Starbucks while shopping at Target? Yes, please. I digress.). Straightforward, sure, but the catch? No electricity. The snowstorm had rendered Target without power, wifi, or…coffee. Nevertheless, CJ & Allison opted to put their trust in AJ and I and are allowing us the privilege of shooting their wedding!
It didn’t take long at all to realize that these two were an incredibly sweet, fun-loving couple. From the vision that they have for their wedding day to the way they look at each other and interrupt one another while telling the story of their proposal, the love that they have for each other is evident. AJ and I decided to explore the Philander Chase Knox Estate in Valley Forge a few weeks ago and I immediately knew that it was somewhere that I needed to shoot. We had already planned Allison & CJ’s engagement session for the Tyler Arboretum, but after sending Allison a few photos of the Estate, she happily agreed to switch their location. After a week of rain, we met up with Allison and CJ in Valley Forge on Saturday morning and explored the estate. We were so blessed as the sun peeked out from behind the clouds, and it was the perfect break in the dreariness that we’ve been experiencing!
These two were so incredibly fun in front of the camera. I always love when I get a couple who can just snuggle and chat and interact naturally and pretend we’re not even there, and these two were total pros! We can’t wait for their wedding this fall! Congrats Allison & CJ on your engagement!
