Adam & Shannon | Lancaster Engagement Session

I’m so excited to get to share Shannon & Adam’s beautiful engagement session today!  These two are so sweet and so in love, and we have been looking forward to working with them since they chose us for their wedding photography this spring.  We met up with Shannon & Adam at Longs Park in Lancaster on Saturday night, where we got some great photos near the pond.  We then headed over to Lititz to a special little pop-up wildflower field!

It was so much fun spending the evening with Adam & Shannon…they were total naturals in front of the camera and we can’t wait to celebrate their wedding at the Rocky Top Lodge this fall!  We asked Shannon & Adam to tell us a little bit of their love story, so here it is in their own words:

We met at the gym! Adam was the general manager at the local Gold’s gym and I (Shannon) was a member. We had seen each other through passing several times, but neither of us had the nerve to approach the other! It wasn’t until I was chatting with one of the front desk employees, who happened to be a former student of mine, that Adam finally got the nerve to ask about me. My good friend (and roommate at the time), Sophie, and I had gone to watch an Eagles game at the Locker Room and Adam was there with a friend. They ended up coming back to our house that night, we made dinner, built a fire, and just hung out. A few days later, on his birthday, Adam texted me–telling me he had a very important question for me and he warned me that my response could make or break his birthday. He asked me if I was seeing anyone, which I wasn’t, and I guess he received the answer he was looking for! Sophie and I took Adam to Viva for his birthday drink, and the rest is history!

The two got engaged last July in Hilton Head, South Carolina, and their engagement story is adorable!

We picked out the ring together, so I knew it was a matter of time before he popped the question! We went to Hilton Head Island to visit Adam’s family (his parents live there). It’s a Schmidt activity to go watch the sunrise at least one time while you’re down there because they are just out of this world gorgeous! So, we all woke up very early one morning and his entire family, Adam, and I trekked down to the beach–the whole time racing the clock because as we were driving there, the sky kept getting brighter and brighter and we were afraid we were going to miss it. We made it to the beach just in time and we just started strolling along. Adam’s family hung back behind us a little and Adam waited for the perfect moment to get down on one knee and ask me to marry him like a gentleman! I honestly don’t remember all of what he said because emotions were running high–but it didn’t matter. People stopped along their walk to watch the proposal and we were met with lots of clapping and cheers from everyone! It was such a romantic and magical moment that I’ll cherish forever! Adam’s sister was able to take pictures and I’m so thankful to have those images to hold on to!
